I used to photograph a London-based band, the Red Queens, and in early 2015, they performed at the (late, lamented) legendary 12 Bar Club. After the set, we were hanging out backstage, when I saw on the TV screen an amazing-looking band playing, so I went back out to shoot them until I started worrying about my camera meeting flying beer.
Ten years on, I still adore my photos from that night, and I’m gutted I never got to photograph them again.
The band was led by Paul Gautrey, and they called themselves ‘Glamabilly Rock ‘N Rollers’; here’s an interview with Paul for more information about them.
